2025 NATIVE PLANT SALE

Co-sponsored by Homewood Izaak Walton Preserve and Thorn Creek Audubon Society.

At the Preserve, we plant only native plants to replace invasives. Native plants are becoming increasingly popular for home and commercial landscaping for a variety of reasons:

• Because they evolved together, native plants support native pollinators and wildlife, including butterflies.

• Due to their very deep root systems, native plants prevent erosion, (once established) do not require water and benefit the soil.

• Native plants are relatively low maintenance: no mowing or fertilizing.

• There is a native plant to fit every gardening niche.

Deadline for ordering is March 1, 2025. Order pick-up is Homewood Izaak Walton Preserve on Saturday, May 17, 9:00 am - 2:00 pm, and Sunday, May 18 , 9:00 am - 12 noon. Map
